Artisan Laura White grew up in the Portland, Oregon.  At the age of 15, she began selling her work at Nordstrom’s in Portland, by 17 her work had appeared at Galleries and shops and by 18, she had opened her own dress shop in downtown Portland.  At the age of 19, she was hired as an Art teacher at a Portland Public High School.

Laura comes from family of artists and writers.  Laura’s her daughter is the 4th generation of artists in her family.  Her grandfather was a woodworker and made miniature furniture.  Laura and her sister started a business making and selling 1 to 1 scale miniatures.

In 1980, Laura moved to the Mendocino coast in Northern California where she opened the Pumpkin Seed, a shop where she sold her work.  She continued to sell her work in shops across the United States and present at highly respected Art fairs.

Laura currently sells her work at Arts and Craft shows, galleries, and shops though out the United States.  Collectors have been asking her how to get her work online, so she recently began selling on E-bay.

Laura creates Handmade Dolls, Miniatures, Painting, Gift cards, Jewelry, Pottery, Hats, Potholders and Hand Painted Christmas Ornaments.
